Gravity marks the welcome return to the sci-fi genre for Children of Men’s Director Alfonso Cuarón and from this first trailer things are looking very good indeed or very bad if you’re Sandra Bullock and George Clooney! The plot courtesy of the IMDB: “Astronauts attempt to return to earth after debris crashes into their space shuttle, leaving them drifting alone in space.” This makes you glad you grew out of the ‘I want to be an astronaut phase…’ Alfonso Cuarón shows us space is very scarey, unforgiving and dark. Not sure what happens for the rest of the movie after this spectacular opening, but if anyone can make this work, it’s Alfonso Cuarón. Gravity arrives this October.
