Silent Night is very loosely based on the original 1984 horror movie Silent Night, Deadly Night. At it’s heart Steven C. Miller’s Silent Night is an old fashioned 80’s style slasher movie complete with stereotypical characters and a very ‘un-Christmassy’ black eyed psycho Santa Claus. It certainly doesn’t take itself too seriously and Malcolm Mcdowell is great as the cliché spouting Sheriff. Jamie King also does well as the film’s central focus. As with a lot of slashers Silent Night isn’t particularly scarey or memorable but it’s pretty good fun and there’s plenty of gore to get you through Christmas!
