The Art of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge gives you an exclusive inside look at the magic behind the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed lands at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. The book documents the art and innovations that led to the creation of Galaxy’s Edge, showcasing the concept artworks for attractions that made it into the park, and some of the ambitious plans that never quite came to fruition. The level of detail in this book is insane, with hundreds of full-color paintings, drawings, sketches, and blueprints. Alongside the artworks, we have interviews with the key creative minds and Disney Imagineers who shaped the lands’ design and provide commentary on what it’s like to dream and then build a life-size Star Wars adventure. From the design and artwork in this book, you could easily think this was the art book of a new Star Wars movie. In many ways, this is much, much more and Galaxy’s Edge looks and feels about as authentic and as immersive a Star Wars experience as you could ever dream or hope for. It would have been great to see photographs of the realised locations, sets, costumes, models, and animatronics – but as the title suggests, this book is more about the amazing art, vision, and imagination that helped shape Galaxy’s Edge. One day when the world gets back to normal we’ll get to visit and explore the real Galaxy’s Edge, for now this book will do very nicely!
