Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Review

Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is an ambitious sci-fi movie which unfortunately is a bit all over the place. It’s a visual masterpiece with some incredible special FX and production design. It’s a shame they didn’t apply the same attention to the story and dialogue as they did to the visuals. Dane DeHaan (Valerian) and Cara Delevingne (Laureline) both look great, but they fail to hold everything together, especially with the bonkers story. It certainly wasn’t The Fifth Element, but we really hope this doesn’t put Luc Beeson off creating more inventive sci-fi movies because he’s an amazing world builder and for vision alone you must see this film.
