V/H/S is a horror anthology bringing together 5 short ‘found footage’ films from upcoming indie horror directors, Adam Wingard, Joe Swanberg, Glenn McQuaid, David Bruckner, Radio Silence, and Ti West. The quality of the movies on offer are unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag with a couple of the collection being fairly weak, in particular the story entitled ‘Tuesday the 17th’ which was a bit rubbish and poorly acted. Overall V/H/S was good fun – a found footage Creepshow with a few really good segments – ‘Amateur Night’ was the standout film of the collection for us. We’re not huge fans of the found footage genre but V/H/S demonstrates there’s plenty of inventive ideas out there – and word has it that V/H/S 2 is on the way!
