If anyone was going to pull off the task of bringing this movie to the big screen it was Joss Whedon. Avengers Assemble is an ambitious bold fantastic sci-fi blockbuster. The basic plot: Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army. The story is absolute nonsense and it’s really just a great excuse to bring together our favourite super heroes (and heroines) – but it is fantastic bonkers nonsense! The cast are all excellent and the evil Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is great as Thor’s half brother turned bad.
When you think of the different franchises, the visual style of each of the films, and the back stories of the 6 Marvel Superheroes it’s incredible that Joss Whedon has managed to bring them together to such a satisfying whole. Excellent Work!
